About Rich Benci

I have over 20 years of senior management experience across a wide array of businesses. I have been part of five start-up companies with three of them successfully acquired by larger entities and one completed a successful IPO. I also managed teams within two Fortune 500 companies and earned recognition for creating effective programs that not only produced results, but were aligned with corporate goals and allowed other units to adopt the programs.

I have accumulated business insights from these experiences that I use to help my clients avoid common pitfalls and maximize their business to achieve sustained growth.

I was on the RealAge executive team for 10 years, and guided the company as president after the 2000 dot-com bust. I’ve been hands-on through the wild “ups” in the late 90’s of ever-increasing investments, to the crash (we went from 100 people to 18 within 5 months), then in survival mode, turning into a thriving business, and ending with a successful acquisition by Hearst Magazines and hitting our 2-year transition plan within 14 months.

Prior to RealAge, I "grew up" in sales and marketing in the technology sector. The first start-up I joined became the first value added integrator for Sun Microsystems and Autodesk software. Later experiences included: document management; workflow processes; website infrastructure; website applications & tools; and online media. I’ve managed sales direct-to-client as well as via reseller channels and agencies.
